    Overview
    LOA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dean of Students, who in keeping with our mission and culture, understands the importance of personal responsibility, honesty, grit and determination, and can enforce these values with tough love. Applicants should at a minimum:
    • have a general understanding of the Science of Behavior Change.
    • have a general understanding of data collection, analyses, and the use of data to inform discipline practices.
    • have an ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students in ways that improve student behavior outcomes.
    • have an ability to demonstrate loving care for students and their futures yet also a firm personality and belief in a high level of structure.
    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree Required, Master Degree Preferred
    5 years of experience working in a diverse school environment Preferred.
    Specific Responsibilities:
    Support an environment where school culture is driven by focusing on positive student behavior; collaborate with division directors to design meaningful recognition for students who are meeting and exceeding expectations; Participate as a member of the Positive Behavior and Interventions and Supports (P.B.I.S) team at LOA.
    Be highly present and visible during school hours relentlessly ensuring a positive school environment.
    Work closely with students, parents, teachers and administration to apply disciplinary code and school policies. Administrator appropriate discipline to all students as outlined in the LOA Student and Family Handbook.
    Communicate quickly with parents regarding disciplinary concerns, and create partnerships with families to support the personal growth of the student. Coordinate and conduct appropriate parent/teacher conferences related to discipline.
    Keep accurate student discipline records including the documentation of all parent/guardian conferences, suspensions and phone call for behavior.
    Support teachers in ensuring they set high expectations and manage their classes in accordance with LOA expectations.
    Coordinate and supervise assistant deans, detention and in-school suspension.
    Monitor, oversee and analyze student discipline data. Research, develop, and implement programs to improve discipline.
    Proactively serve as a resource for teachers in their instructional practice as it relates to issues of discipline and classroom management.
